Bath would not be a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a spa city for nothing. Its Roman period baths are definitely its biggest tourist draws. But if you care to do something more than just dipping into the hot spring baths that date back more than 2,000 years, don’t worry. There’s more to this enigmatic city than just the baths.
Sightseeing is a Must
That one other thing that Bath excellently offers is a sightseeing tour, which will allow you to explore its tasteful Georgian architecture and Medieval heritage. This is a great way to make the most of your stay in a luxury hotel in Bath City Centre. You are very near to the astounding attractions of this beautiful town.
Outside the Roman baths, you can see some glorious sights that you need to visit to have a good feel of the city.
First of them is the Bath Abbey, a Gothic England church that dates back to late 1400s. Then, there’s the Royal Crescent, a Georgian town house designed in a magnificent crescent shape. The Sion Hill is also worth visiting for its wealthy neighbourhood feel and handsome stone buildings.
Other than the attractions mentioned above, there are a handful of Bath sights that you could not miss like the Victoria Parks, the Sydney Gardens, and the Jane Austen Centre.
Experience the Cinemas, the Theatre Productions, and Live Music
For entertainment, Bath would suffice. It has some locations that will give you a sneak peek of the talents this city houses, apart from the great Jane Austen, of course.
You can check out Bath’s cinemas, The Odeon and The Little Theatre, for local and foreign film productions. Or you may visit the historic Theatre Royal, which mostly features test runs of various plays slated for the West End in London. Live music is also generously offered all over the city. Pubs have them at different times of the day.
You will never get bored in Bath, even if the only thing you could do is to spend a lazy time in its spas and Roman Baths. It is also nice that you have other options of things to do and see to make the most of your tour of the city.
